Dr. Wimberley completed his General Surgery internship, Orthopedic Surgery residency, as well as additional subspecialty fellowships in both Orthopedic Trauma surgery and Adult Spine Surgery at Harvard Medical School.
Houston Astros Baseball Club
Dr. Wimberley has served as the team Spinal Surgeon for the Houston Astros Baseball Club since 2008. His responsibilities include all aspects of care involving injuries to the professional athlete’s spine.
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School
Dr. Wimberley attended Southwestern Medical School in Dallas Texas. He maintained a 4.0 grade point average throughout medical school, graduated first in his medical school class and received the highest graduating student honor bestowed by the school, The Ho Din Award.
Thomas Jefferson University
Dr. Wimberley completed a second sub-specialty fellowship in Spine Surgery including both Orthopedic as well as Neurosurgical attending surgeons at this prestigious program in Philadelphia.

Dr. Wimberley performs all spinal surgeries at Texas Orthopedic Hospital. This specialty hospital is widely known for excellence in the care of patients with these specialized conditions. The benefit to the patient of this specialty care cannot be over emphasized.
